Through the Eyes of the Adversary: Operations Security for Public
Safety Agencies
An adversary is anyone who is collecting information about you and
your organization and has the intent to use this information to harm
you. Today's public safety agencies face a wide range of adversaries
, including criminals, terrorists, hackers, extremists, foreign intelligence
agencies, and the insider threat. According to captured terrorist
training manuals, about 80% of the information needed to plan an attack
can be obtained from open sources of information such as the internet.
This video describes your adversaries and how they collect intelligence
using unclassified open sources of information. It presents a process
known as operations security, or OPSEC, that can be used to deny your
adversaries the critical information they need to plan their operations
against you. (~22 minutes, DVD, closed captioned)
